"Beta, that was an AWESOME
explanation of the toe callous, especially as pertaining to this thread and photos! Thank you so much for the clarity and
direction for future healing! It's education like this that really helps cement my understanding of both anatomy and trimming
- thanks for all you do!!!"
"Thanks Hugga, you guys are so good at empowering people to do this, I
find myself telling everyone I know (who has a naked horse)about your website and forum. IT'S SO GREAT!!"
"I was trimming every
week and as soon as I backed off and finally listened to you he gained toe height! And he got this dramatic increase in concavity
too. It's was so amazing!"
If all the stars align,
we will come out of this 100%. If not... well, she's 1000% better off. And I am 100,000% more knowledgeable!
Hi, Huga.....thanks so much for this advice, the diagrams are a wonderful demonstration,
especially for a "visual learner". I'm continuing to study them and see how I need to adjust my trimming. Thanks again, this
forum is a wonderful support
… So moral of the
story: turning him out for a month and a half and trail riding the rest of the time.. and barefoot.. has given me my horse
back 100 times over!
My 5 and a half year old
OTTB (10 months off the track, living out 24/7, barefoot, no blankets or grain) cleared her first 1.20m spread yesterday,
it was mine too and was a very overwhelming experience for me. I still can't believe that WE did that! On a horse that was
off to be lion meat if I hadn't taken her home . The terrain was grass and we had no problem with traction whatsoever.
